We know – we’re always pumped about new features – but seriously, this week’s release is 🔥🔥🔥. We’ve got tons of new stuff to tell you about so we’ll get right into it. If you’re new around here, welcome! We’ll pop into your inbox every few weeks with a mix of product updates, announcements, tips and tricks, helpful resources, and interesting articles. Let’s dive in!
The first feature we ever shipped was a button that said “Text me when it starts.” We had heard from organizers that it was too hard to get people to actually show up to online events. They wanted an easy way to activate people at the right moment and SMS seemed like the perfect tool, so we built V1 of Norby to make that as easy as possible: create an event and anyone who signs up will automagically get a text when it starts.
Fast forward to today. Norby is now much more than an online events tool – it’s a fully-fledged inbound marketing command center, landing page builder, and CRM – and our customers are using our SMS tools in all kinds of interesting and creative ways.
Enter DROPS. You can now use Norby to create a button or signup page to collect emails, phone numbers, or both, and then trigger a campaign to be sent to those people using your medium of choice whenever you want. Even better, those signup buttons and pages are fully embeddable, so you can stick them in your Norby link in bio, link to them directly from swipe ups or tweets, as well as embed them on your Squarespace, Shopify, or other website.
Need some inspiration? Here’s how members of our community are already using drops:
Links you send in drops will automatically be analytics-enabled and track conversion, so no need to generate tons of Bitly links – we got you covered!
Drops are an incredibly powerful tool for building hype and driving conversion for just about anything you can imagine – whether that’s a product launch, a new website, or going live on your platform of choice.
(Pssst. We hear things are heating up over on Clubhouse. Create a drop and text people when you’re starting a room!)
We can’t wait to see how you all use drops – and if you come up with a cool use case, let us know by replying to this email!
Don’t worry – events got some love in this release, too. We’ve made event notifications and campaigns way more powerful and customizable 👏. You can now use Norby to:
As with drops, links you send in event notifications and reminders are automatically analytics-enabled and will track clickthroughs from every follower.
Along with drops and our new event features, there are tons of new data points visible to youin the Audience analytics section of your dashboard. When you click to expand user journeys, you’ll start to see context and medium-specific activity items, like “Steven clicked a link in your SMS campaign” or “Alana opened your email confirmation.”
You can also view individual event, drop, and link analytics by going to their respective tabs in the dashboard.
Lastly, watch this space – we’re working on making analytics even more powerful. If you’ve got ideas about specific stats and details you’d like to see, just reply to this email and let us know.
